Call for Ice Carvers in Chester

Ice carvers are invited to participate in the 20th Annual Chester Winter Carnivale Ice Carving Competition, to be held Sunday, Feb. 21 in Chester Village. The competition will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Check-in is from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at 1 Main Street, where breakfast will be provided. Lunch will be provided for carvers while judging is taking place after 1 p.m.

A panel of professional judges will select the winning sculptures based on artistic merit, degree of difficulty and best use of materials. Three hundred-pound blocks of ice will be provided; carvers may not use their own ice. To register, a nonrefundable registration fee of $15 plus $40 for ice (total of $55) must be paid in advance with the completed registration form no later than Feb. 14.
