Chester Democratic Town Committee Seeks New Members

From a press release provided by the Chester Democratic Town Committee:

Every two years Chester Democrats elect a new Democratic Town Committee to a 2-year term. The term runs from March 2010 to March 2012. Please join us!

The party will elect 25 members at a town-wide Democratic Caucus on Wednesday, January 6, at 7:30 PM in the Chester Meeting House. All registered Democrats are eligible to run and to vote.

What do DTC members do? It all depends on your interests and skills.

- Recruit candidates for elective offices.
- Nominate candidates for appointment to town boards and commissions.
- Participate in the selection process of our Democratic candidates for representative, senator, US representatives, governor and other constitutional officers
- Study and recommend improvements in local government.
- Educate the public on relevant issues.
- Sponsor and encourage constructive Democratic Party activities.
- Raise funds in support of these purposes.
- Enjoy working with politically-minded friends with diverse views.

You’ll serve on one of our standing committees, such as Nominating, Media/Press, Fundraising and Local Issues. And everyone helps run the DTC’s Chester Fair Booth and Annual Fall Social Social.
